Hong Kong Day 3

Posted by on August 13, 2013

Today we decided it would be a good day to go see Cheung Chau, which was a recommendation from Jamie, our tour guide from the previous day.  Cheung Chow is a little village about 25 minutes away by ferry boat from Hong Kong.  When we arrived, it was storming pretty bad.  The previous day, we were informed that a category 8 typhoon was coming in.  They have different levels of typhoons warnings and that yesterday it was only at a category 1.  Today it was moved to a category 3.

Jamie told us we had to go and get egg puffs when we got off the ferry.  They were delicious.

We strolled up and down all the streets and alleys of Cheung Chau.  We stopped to observe this lady making fish balls.

By this time, we were pretty wet from the typhoon.

We had lunch at a little place we found.  They had really good bowls of noodles and they also make a mean egg/ham sandwich.

After lunch we took a stroll to the main temple on the island.

On our way back to Kowloon, we were able to get a good photo of the longest bridge in the world.

Tonight, we thought we would go to the Ritz Carlton (tallest building in all of Hong Kong) and visit the Ozone Bar.  This is the view of Hong Kong from the 118th floor.  The photo is spotty due to the category 8 typhoon that was coming in and was taken from the window of the mens bathroom.

We called it a night
