The weather this weekend was forecast to be in the mid 90’s and we worked hard to finish our chores yesterday so we could have a little fun today. We had some nice choices, dirt bike ride, street bike ride, Sac River for lunch or maybe a road trip with the doggies to somewhere cooler. We haven’t taken a hike in a very long time so we decided a road trip was the best choice. We loaded up the dogs, packed a picnic lunch and headed east to the area of Ice House and Union Vally Reservoir. As we climbed in altitude we found a perfect 82 degrees and blue skies. We stopped at Ice House but the lake was very high so we moved on and found a perfect spot along a river near Union Valley. We had the place all to ourselves and what a great day it was! There is an excellent bike path so we made a mental note to bring the bicycles on our next visit.
